We are Joe Vadeboncoeur and Scott Daubert, your everyday off-road motorcycle fanatics. We live in southern Wisconsin and compete in the District 16 hare scrambles series. Joe races 40+ and Scott races the AA group. This is our 3rd season traveling to races together but Joe is a 5-year veteran of the D16 series.
We hatched a plan to do the entire Grand National Cross Country Racing Series last June. Since then we have networked with people we know in the motorcycle and bicycle industries to drum up support for our race season in 2008. So far the response from various companies has far exceeded our expectations and we will be proud to use their equipment and services.
Our plan is to compete in the 2008 GNCC series for the experience of doing a national calendar of races. If we are in the running for the overall titles that will be a bonus but our interest from the beginning has been to do a nationally recognized series. The GNCC series is as big as it gets for off-road racing.
WE ARE GOING GNCC RACING!

Greg-
We’re stoked you are racing off-road races. But we are working hard to get our program off the ground for ourselves and don’t yet have room for additional riders. Good luck and go fast. - Scott and Joe
You guys interested in doing the Byron Poker ride the first weekend in November? I am planning to be back in the US (moving back from China) by then and hope to ride it with my brothers. It is a fun way to end out the dirt bike year.
Whoa Scott, great mate, I’m impressed. Looks like you tood to the dirt instead of the road. Still have your Duck?
All best,
Keith
Keith - Great to hear from you. For those that don’t know Keith, he runs the California Superbike School (www.superbikeschool.com). I’ve attended several of his classes in my pursuit to better my riding skills (and safely enjoy some of the potential sportbikes offer by going round and round on a closed road circuit). Keith is the master of disecting what it takes to make a motorcycle work with the rider. While my focus is on the dirt these days, I use the skills, drills and habits I learned from Keith’s road courses every time I ride.
So, to Keith, no; I sold my 748 and bought a KTM Duke and a CRF450 a few years ago. I raced Supermoto for a few seasons but then the Hare Scramble bug bit. I did do a Hayabusa track day at Autobahn Country Club near Joliet a few weeks ago so that kept me in touch with street bikes. I also race from time to time on an SV650 in WERA events. The SV team calls me when they know its going to be a rainy race because they know I like the challenges of riding in slick conditions (thanks again for all those throttle control techniques).
Stay in touch and stay upright. Scott

Joe and I raced at a Byron event earlier this year and had a great time. The course had a mix of terrain and the turnout was big. We planned to return but with Joe’s knee rehab and my van purchase, we are too busy to attend the November Byron event. Thanks for checking in and have a good time if you participate.

Yes, we’ve missed you at the schools but look what you are doing, that is great. It sounds like a life of leisure to me. I think I’m the guy who rides the least of anyone that I know and that is a crime. The cobbler’s family go without shoes.
You are right, we’ve been really busy the last couple of years, almost too many schools but being a gypsy is what it is. Much is the same but much is also different than it used to be. I think we’ve ironed out a lot of stuff to make the days go a lot smoother for the students and we use a lot more coaches now than before. What a project it is keeping up with your passions.
Good luck to you and Joe.
All the best,
Keith
Scott & Joe, I like your website. I hope you enjoy the GNCC’s, my son Ben and I rode at KY last year, it is a GIANT circus. Aggressive passing is the key to success as the trails are VERY crowded. Good luck with all the travel and races, it should be a great experience.
Joe, I see you also carry a D16 blue background. I’ll see you on the line. I’m on the #186 Husky. Don’t worry, with all the race time you’ll get that’s probably the only time you’ll see me unless your coming to lap me.
Good luck in Florida!
Brad
Thanks for the note Brad. I take it that you are a D16 guy as well. Ya, I am a D16 +40, blue background guy as well.
We are really looking forward to the season. Hope to see you guys at a race a long the way. If you follow back to the main site, you can see our schedule. Not to many D16 races this year, but I will look for you there.
Joe
Joe & Scott,
It was great meeting you both in FL. That’s a tough first race after a winter off! I hope you’re hands held up.
We (my partner Sam and I) were very impressed with the bikes/graphics, and could not be happier as a sponsor of your team.
Good luck with the series!

Gary,
Thanks for the note of confidence. We love your stuff, and it makes a huge difference when the race is tough - like Florida was.
See you at the races!
